Music Ministry at Church of the Cross

Music Ministry During Worship

In our worship time, you will find the congregation singing those great hymns of our faith such as Great is Thy Faithfulness, or Come Ye Fount of Every Blessing! You will also find us learning new songs from various contemporary artists. Every so often, we love to find great music videos that help us keep in touch with today’s younger generation. We enjoy the pleasure of having guest artists and instrumentalists share their gifts with us during worship. You will hear various instrumental and vocal solos, piano duets, piano and bell duets, bell choir pieces, jazzy postludes and meditative preludes.

JOIN COTC’S CHOIR!

Led by Dr. Sarah Kahl

Our choir is a group of people who love God and who love to sing His praises! We sing a variety of styles ranging from original scores to arrangements of well-known hymns. In addition to singing repertoire, we also work on vocal and music reading skills. We rehearse during the year on Thursday evenings from 6:15-7:45pm and sing during Sunday worship once a month. Come join us!

HANDBELL CHOIR

Led by Amy Fugate

Our Handbell Choir is led by Amy Fugate, who enthusiastically shares her love of handbells and shows great patience while learning new music!  Interested ringers, beginner and experienced alike, learn how to properly handle our amazing instrument and share in meaningful fellowship with the other rigners.  Most of the time the handbell choir rings during the Sunday worship service, but we occasionally venture out into the community as well.  We are blessed to be a part of COTC’s music ministry and intentionally share our gifts to glorify God.  In addition to our COTC Handbell Choir, Amy Fugate also directs Presque Isle Ringers, a community handbell ensemble who rehearses at COTC.
